Elysa Darling

Elysa Darling has a background in fine art, having earned her bachelor's degree at Clark University in Worcester, MA with a double major in Art History and Studio Art/Photography in 1994. She also studied Art History and Archaeology at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia in 1993.

Elysa’s love of photography started as early as she can remember when she spent countless hours in her father’s studio and darkroom learning the foundations of photography. After college, she was a Director of multiple art galleries where she curated exhibits and also assisted her father on professional photography assignments and jobs.

Since moving to Northern VA/Washington DC 25 years ago, Elysa has won several national photo contests, including the centerfold of her cat, Lili, in the Humane Society of the United State’s National 2013 Spay Day Calendar and her cat, Bleu, in the 2015 Ally Cat Allies calendar.

While sometimes photographing special events and portraits, Elysa’s focus is on everyday life and her surroundings, including her fiber art, daily walks, flower garden, and beloved cats.
